Description

A delicious and easy one-pan meal featuring creamy cheddar cheese, garlic, chicken, and sausage with penne pasta.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound chicken breast, diced
  • 1/2 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and sliced sausage, cooking until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add the penne pasta, stirring to combine. Cover the skillet and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the pasta is cooked, reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your delicious one-pan meal!
