- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.
- Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs and sear for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the honey garlic mixture and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter until melted.
- While the chicken is cooking, rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve it on plates. Top with the honey garlic butter chicken, drizzle with extra sauce, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the honey garlic mixture.
- Feel free to substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts if preferred.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
