Description

A delicious and festive cheese ball perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • A few sprigs of fresh rosemary for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, sour cream, Dijon mustard, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. If using, fold in the crumbled bacon.
  3. Shape the mixture into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  4. Once chilled, remove the cheese ball from the wrap and roll it in the chopped pecans or walnuts, dried cranberries, and additional parsley until fully coated.
  5. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs.
  6. Serve with crackers or bread.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the bacon.
  • This cheese ball can be made a day in advance.
  • Feel free to customize the coating with your favorite nuts or dried fruits.
