Description

Firecracker Watermelon Tequila Pops are a refreshing and fun treat perfect for cooling off on hot days. They combine the sweet flavor of watermelon with the zing of tequila and lime, finished with a hint of spice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium watermelon
  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1/2 cup lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Popsicle molds
  • Sticks for popsicles

Instructions

  1. Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the flesh into a large mixing bowl. Remove any seeds and break the watermelon into smaller pieces.
  2. Using a blender or food processor, puree the watermelon until smooth. If you prefer a chunkier texture, blend for a shorter time.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, chili powder, and sea salt. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  4. Pour the watermelon puree into the tequila mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Carefully pour the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion as they freeze.
  6. Insert sticks into the molds and place them in the freezer. Allow the pops to freeze for at least 6 hours, or until completely solid.
  7. When ready to serve, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds to help release the pops. Gently pull the pops from the molds and enjoy.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of chili powder based on your spice preference.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila with a non-alcoholic option.
  • These pops can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
