Description
Firecracker Watermelon Tequila Pops are a refreshing and fun treat perfect for cooling off on hot days. They combine the sweet flavor of watermelon with the zing of tequila and lime, finished with a hint of spice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium watermelon
- 1 cup tequila
- 1/2 cup lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1/4 cup simple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- Popsicle molds
- Sticks for popsicles
Instructions
- Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the flesh into a large mixing bowl. Remove any seeds and break the watermelon into smaller pieces.
- Using a blender or food processor, puree the watermelon until smooth. If you prefer a chunkier texture, blend for a shorter time.
- In a separate bowl, combine the tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, chili powder, and sea salt. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Pour the watermelon puree into the tequila mixture and stir until combined.
- Carefully pour the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion as they freeze.
- Insert sticks into the molds and place them in the freezer. Allow the pops to freeze for at least 6 hours, or until completely solid.
- When ready to serve, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds to help release the pops. Gently pull the pops from the molds and enjoy.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of chili powder based on your spice preference.
- For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila with a non-alcoholic option.
- These pops can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
