- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and granulated sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the ricotta mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
